Reviewers\' comments:

Reviewer #1: In this paper the authors report on the synthesis and some photoluminescence properties of a europium complex with the ligands *** and ****. This is, in principal, an interesting compound. However, I do not recommend publication on the following grounds:
1) The manuscript contains an enormous amount of misspellings and English erros that in several parts of the text might lead to misunderstandings.
2) Apparently the authors have made a confusion between the Phen ligand and cryptands, as noted in the abstract and at the end of section 3. These are quite different types of ligands.
3) At the begining of section 3 the authors state the \"the complexes have no melting point\". This is physically and chemically unacceptable, and they should seriously review their statement in the context of thermal measurements.
4) The authors use DMSO as solvent. This molecule is known to be an excellent ligating species, and often leads to substitution reactions. Nothing is mentioned on this problem and, therefore, doubts may be raised on their UV-visible abosorption measurements and assignments.
5) In subsection 3.3 the barycenter of the hypersensitive transition in one instance is taken as 610nm and in the other as 613nm. No detail is given on the measurement of the enhancement of the Eu emission due to the entrance of the Phen ligand, still this is a very delicate experimental procedure.
6) The authors give values of emission lifetimes, but do not mention at all how they were measured.
7) In the list of references the author\'s listing is incomplete. The use of \"et al\" is inacceptable
