Be careful of your UV detector for TLC. It can make you blind
UV light does serious damages to your eyes, but we seem not careful, especially of items as small as a detector.An undergraduate did protein preps in my lab, and she used a small UV detector a lot without any protection for her eyes. She actually went to medical center to check her eyes once, because she nearly could not open her eyes just after she went back to her apartment.
My eyes often got hurt at the beginning of my graduate study, finally I figured out what was the problem.
Remember: ALWAYS wear your goggles. 紫外不能长时间接触，对眼睛伤害很大！ it is said that the uv detector can bring about cancer
