Before we elucidation the construction of GPR88,let’s know what is GPR first.GPR is abbreviation to G-protein recepors.G-protein-coupled- receptors (GPCRs) are one of the most important drug discovery targets. GPCRs represent the most diverse group of proteins involved in transmembrane signaling pathways; they are activated by a wide variety of ligands, including peptide and nonpeptide neurotransmitters, hormones, growth factors, odorant molecules, and light.However ,GPR88 , a recepor whose location and similarity to ertain other recepors suggest that it may play a role in modulating motor function.GPR88 is expressed almost exclusively in the striatum,a region of the brian that becomes impaired with dopamine loss characterizing PD.
